Automobiles in Germany's Town Discovered Covered with Swastikas in Blood, Law Enforcement State

Officers reported they were alerted by a individual who found a car in Hanau covered with reddish substance

Around 50 automobiles have been smeared with what seems to be human blood in the German town of Hanau close to Frankfurt, according to law enforcement.

Vehicles, building surfaces and postboxes were defaced, occasionally with Nazi symbols, they reported in a release.

Officers say they were contacted late on Wednesday evening, when a resident discovered that a automobile in the Lamboy neighborhood of Hanau had been covered with a reddish substance.

The liquid had been drawn in the form of a Nazi symbol, they added.

Law enforcement then discovered numerous other marked automobiles and building exteriors in the surrounding area.

These symbols are prohibited in Germany under legislation outlawing the visible presentation of Nazi symbols.

Officials report early analysis indicate the fluid was probably human bodily fluid.

"At present there remains no indication as to its origin; investigators are not yet aware of any injuries in association with the event," they added.

Local authorities stated they were working "to unravel the incident" and have requested to the residents for tips.

An important official commented the incident rendered him without words and required to be resolved quickly.

"This event strikes at the core of Hanau and revives the trauma of the extremist attack in 2020," he stated on social media, referring to the murder of nine people by a shooter targeting residents of foreign heritage in five years prior.
